2 Months!

Eliza is two months old (still need to do a 2-month update...I'm getting behind again, ack!). We had her 2 month checkup today; here are her stats!

Weight: 12lbs 6ozs = 85th percentile
Length: 23 3/4" = 90th percentile
Head Circumference: 15 1/4" = 50th percentile

We go back over the next month to do her vaccines (didn't get any today). SUCH a huge thing to figure out... we're following Dr. Sears' Alternative Vaccine Schedule, and we decided we are going to space them out and only get one at a time. It's no problem for us to drive in to the clinic frequently (and my mom works there, so we can visit her when we go!), so why not? We won't forgo any of them, I just don't want to give her too many at once. Just thought I'd share - it's been a difficult decision-making process for us... and I am always wondering what other parents choose to do.

Happy Friday!!

I will have to look into that. Awhile back I was reading about how it's good to space them out. So I was planning on doing that with our babies...

Looks like she is doing well with her height, weight and stuff! Happy 2 Months!

Hubby and I have decided to follow Dr. Sears delayed schedule as well. How has your pediatrician reacted to your request? We find that many around where we live are not very supportive.

interesting decision. i've never heard of it. what is the reasoning behind the delayed schedule?

So glad to hear Eliza is doing well! The schedule of shots sounds good I am going to check into that as well once I find a good pediatrician. Happy 2 months to your little girl!!

We decided against delaying/spreading them out after I realized that that's not actually Dr. Sears' recommendation in the first place. He actually claims he offers his schedule in order to make parents that wouldn't otherwise vaccinate have a palatable alternative. But by doing so I think has had the opposite effect.

This blog post puts it better than I could (though if I were the one writing this to you, I would not feel the need to be as anti-Sears as he is): http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=333

Anyway, as long as she's getting all her vaccine's, I'm sure it'll all be fine. It sounds like she's doing great! I need to go look at more photos!

What's up with her tiny head?? Sounds like she needs to attend some graduate classes this semester... :D But, anyway, she's beautiful, and it probably makes it easier to get her shirts on!
